RingSingThing's protection of your privacy

RingSingThing's website ("the Website") is owned and operated by RingSingThing Pty Ltd (ACN 120 497 378:) ("RingSingThing"). RingSingThing is committed to maintaining the privacy of any personal information collected by RingSingThing during your use of the Website. RingSingThing complies with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the National Privacy Principles and provides this Privacy Policy to outline RingSingThing's treatment of and attitude towards your personal information.

Children

The Website is not designed or intended to be used by persons under the age of 13. RingSingThing does not knowingly collect, store or disclose personal information pertaining to persons under the age of 13. If you are under 13 years of age please do not enter the Website, register for an RingSingThing User account or disclose any personal information of any sort on the Website. Where RingSingThing becomes aware that it has stored personal information belonging to persons under 13, RingSingThing will delete such information as soon as practicably possible.

RingSingThing permits the use of the Website by persons between the ages of 13 and 18 if such persons have parental consent.

Collection

RingSingThing collects your personal information in 2 ways: information that is voluntarily disclosed by you in your use of the Website or dial up of the RingSingThing Interactive telephone system; and website use information that captures your interaction with the Website every time you use the Website.

Personal information submitted by you includes account information, contact details such as email and postal addresses and telephone numbers, and any content submitted by you in your use of the website, such as original videos, songs and comments. The accuracy of personal information held by RingSingThing is dependant on the information that you disclose. You should contact RingSingThing if you believe that any information is incorrect and in need of updating.

Website use information collected by us may include:

  • your domain name, if applicable;
  • the date, time and duration of your visits to the Website;

From time to time RingSingThing also uses cookies for anonymous profiling for the purposes of "serving" advertisements. This involves matching advertisements to a user's anonymous profile which is built from information obtained by cookies. You may opt-out of this anonymous profiling by contacting us.

Use and Disclosure

The Website is an online community and permits users to create and play content that accompany a user account and submit comments and questions relating to submissions. In order to provide these services, RingSingThing needs to collect and display a certain amount of personal information.

RingSingThing reserves the right to sell or transfer your personal information, whether as raw or aggregated data, to third parties located locally and internationally. You consent to the sale and/or transfer of your personal information – including your first and last name, any submitted songs or videos (excluding APRA AMCOSS licensed works), any comments, responses or postings – to third parties. You acknowledge that any transferred information may be displayed on third party websites in connection with third party publications and the promotion of RingSingThing's services.

RingSingThing reserves the right to transfer your personal information in the event of a change in the ownership or operation of the RingSingThing business, for example, the sale of part of all of RingSingThing business, or a merger with another company. In such an event RingSingThing will attempt to notify you before your personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

The Website may contain links to external third party websites. Any third party website is not under the control of RingSingThing and is not subject to this Privacy Policy. RingSingThing is not responsible for the privacy practices of third party websites and any tracking devices such as cookies used by linked sites. All personal information held by RingSingThing is stored on secure servers that are protected in a controlled environment. However, the internet is not a secure environment and any information transmitted by you over the internet may be accessed and used by people other than those for whom the data is intended. When you provide any personal information over the internet it is at your own risk and RingSingThing will not be held responsible for any unauthorised access or use of your personal information.

You have the right to request access to your personal information held by RingSingThing by contacting us. You may also contact RingSingThing to update or correct any information about you or request that RingSingThing delete your personal information.
